The Kaye is a beautiful oscillating 3-speed ceiling fan that can be mounted to the wall or ceiling. Reminiscent of train cabin fans of yester-year, the Kaye will cool down your favorite space with poise and determination. The Kaye is a small fan that has a low profile so it can fit in unusual and tight spaces. Constructed of cast aluminum and heavy stamped steel, the Kaye carries a limited lifetime warranty and comes equipped with hand-balanced metal blades and metal safety cages and a 3-speed wall control. To operate the oscillation mechanism independent of the fan blades, a three wire system is needed. This fan is rated for indoor/outdoor damp locations in the standard finishes but is not recommended for salt air environments. Available in the following standard finishes: polished chrome, brushed nickel or textured bronze. Can be ordered in custom painted finishes at an upcharge (takes 8 to 10 weeks): Polished Brass, Black Nickel, Brushed Brass, Brushed Copper, Dark Blue, Dark Green, Dark Purple, Orange, Red, Yellow, Light Blue, Light Green and Light

Raising your thermostat by 10 degrees can save you up to 40% on your cooling bills, but you cannot raise your thermostat by 10 degrees if you focus only on ceiling fans that use less energy rather than ones that generate higher wind speed. To put this in perspective: A typical central air system uses about 3500 Watts when it is running, so if a ceiling fan that uses 100 watts allows you to raise your thermostat a couple degrees higher than a more "efficient" fan that uses only 50 watts, the savings you will get by raising your AC thermostat a couple degrees higher is far more than the difference of 50 watts between the two fans. With that said, a ceiling fan that uses less watts yet produces higher wind speed is a win-win.
